Upon moving to North Carolina I immediately heard about all the events a North Carolinian takes part in and the biggest of which was the DIXIE CLASSIC FAIR! I had never been to a fair of this proportion previously so you could say after my first time going, I was addicted. This fair has been going on for 132 years and they know how to do it right.
Fair food gets me though...it is a guilty pleasure I can't deny. FRIED OREOS are one of God's gifts to the world in my opinion. And this year I took my love for fair food to a whole new level...I tried the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Cheeseburger...yes it had bacon on it as well. Yolo, right? I might not be back for the burger again but I am glad to say I tried it! My trainer, however, was not so glad I tried it BUT as they say...when in Rome.
Another tradition for me at the fair is the Ferris wheel. It may cost and arm and a leg to ride but it is a must...isn't it beautiful! There is something so American about the fair and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
