Every year the country radio station I work for does a radiothon for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I always knew it was an amazing cause but this week they shipped me and one of my co-workers to Memphis to experience the Hospital first hand and boy, was I blown away.
We stayed in the gorgeous Peabody Hotel, famous for its ducks (check out the hilarious story
here). Ducks were everywhere! The hospitality St. Jude showed us was impeccable. They even gave us a beautiful gold lapel pin which I wore proudly on my way to tour the hospital. While touring the hospital I learned that it takes $2 million a DAY to run! Doesn't that blow your mind?! It is amazing though because no family ever pays St. Jude for anything. Why do they do this? So families can focus on getting their child better.
We all see the TV commercials and they tug at your heart strings but I was not prepared to hear these children experiencing life threatening illnesses speak live about their St. Jude home. Their positive attitudes were infectious and inspiring. I am proud to work for a radio station that will devote air time to raise money for these kids. BUT why wait until then...we can donate now

Not only does St. Jude help the children within its walls but they also do research that they share with EVERYONE! By supporting St. Jude, you support finding cures and helping children and adults all over the world. Thank you St. Jude, for showing me what you do and for all you do.
